Privacy Policy
Effective date:
1. About this policy
This policy describes how LoLog handles information in connection with the LoLog website, the current iOS app and support communications. It does not describe data handling for a future Android version.
In this policy, “LoLog”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the developer and operator of the LoLog app and website.
2. Photos, videos and information on your device
LoLog’s camera capture and normal media processing take place on your device. A LoLog account is not required to use the core camera.
Completed photographs and supported video recordings are saved to your device’s system photo library. LoLog does not operate an account-backed cloud photo library or automatically upload captured photographs, videos or recorded audio to LoLog.
Temporary working files may be stored locally while captures are processed, saved or recovered after an interruption. LoLog also uses local settings and working information to operate the app.
After a finished photograph is successfully published to the system photo library, LoLog removes its temporary capture files as part of local cleanup. It does not maintain a separate hidden full-resolution original for later recovery. Working files can remain while publication or cleanup is incomplete.
Your operating system or another app may separately sync, back up or retrieve library items through iCloud Photos, Google Photos or another service you configure. These services are separate from LoLog and follow their own privacy arrangements. On-device capture does not disable your own backup or synchronisation settings.
You may separately choose to send media, screenshots or related information when contacting support.
3. Permissions and photo metadata
Camera
Camera access is used to show the viewfinder and capture photographs and supported video.
Photo library
Photo-library access is used to save completed media, display relevant LoLog-album media where permitted, read relevant media information and carry out deletion explicitly confirmed by you where supported. The gallery works with the system photo library rather than a separate account-based or cloud collection.
Location
With your permission and LoLog’s location setting enabled, available location information may be written into saved media. Depending on your permission settings, this may include precise coordinates.
You can take photographs without enabling LoLog location access. Disabling location later does not remove coordinates already stored in earlier media.
Microphone
Where video recording is supported and enabled, microphone access is used to record sound during a video recording you intentionally start. The audio forms part of the local video file.
Device motion
Device-motion information is used locally for the camera’s framing level.
You can change permissions in your device settings, although the relevant features may then become unavailable. Before sharing files, consider that recipients or external services may be able to read metadata such as when and where media was captured.
4. Location maps in the iOS gallery
The iOS gallery uses Apple’s mapping services to display saved capture locations. Loading a map may involve communications with Apple needed to provide the service. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by Apple Maps privacy information.
Maps are separate from core camera capture and are not an entirely offline feature. Previously saved location information may still be displayed after location permission is disabled for new captures.
5. Website traffic and cookies
The website uses Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery and security. When you visit, Cloudflare may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as your IP address, the requested page or resource, request time, browser or device information and security-related request information.
LoLog may have access to website traffic, security or diagnostic information made available through the service. We may use it to deliver the website, understand its operation, diagnose faults and protect it against abuse.
The LoLog website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers. We do not currently add website analytics scripts or use browser storage to profile visitors. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies for technical, security or delivery purposes; these are separate from advertising or marketing trackers.
See Cloudflare’s privacy information for its handling of service information.
6. Support communications
When you contact support@lologapp.com, LoLog receives the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address, message contents, a name if you supply one, device and app details, screenshots, diagnostic information or attachments.
Providing this information is voluntary, although enough information may be necessary to answer a question or investigate an issue. We use support information to respond, investigate reported problems and handle relevant follow-up. Contacting support does not add you to a marketing mailing list.
Please do not send passwords, payment-card information or unrelated sensitive information.
7. App-store information and diagnostics
Where LoLog is distributed or purchased through an app store, that platform handles its download and payment services. It may provide LoLog with information needed to administer distribution and purchases, such as sales, transaction state, entitlement, restoration or refund information. LoLog does not receive your full payment-card details from an app-store purchase.
The app may write local operational diagnostics to the system log. Platform or operating-system services may also make crash or diagnostic information available according to their functionality and your settings. These services are separate from LoLog’s own analytics. For Apple services, see Apple’s privacy information.
8. Analytics, use and sharing
LoLog does not currently use its own production analytics system to track individual camera usage.
Our privacy principle is that external analytics and diagnostic systems must not receive captured media or capture-specific sensitive contents. These include photograph pixels, video contents, microphone recordings, thumbnails, filenames, raw EXIF or XMP metadata, album contents, precise capture coordinates, exact personal capture history and capture-specific scene information. This principle is distinct from the optional mapping service described above.
We do not sell or rent personal information or provide it to advertising networks for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed where legally required, or where lawfully necessary to establish or defend legal rights or protect people against serious harm.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may rely on providing services you request, legitimate interests in securely operating and maintaining LoLog, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. If production collection materially changes, we will update this policy as required.
9. Advertising
LoLog does not currently use advertising networks or advertising tracking. The current intended product model is a one-time purchase without advertisements or a recurring subscription.
10. Retention and deletion
Media saved to the system photo library remains under your control. You can delete it through the system photo library or a supported, user-confirmed deletion action in LoLog where available.
Uninstalling LoLog does not necessarily delete media already saved to the system photo library, synchronised cloud copies or backups. LoLog cannot remotely access or delete media held only on your device or in your own backup accounts.
Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, handle relevant follow-up and meet applicable obligations.
Diagnostic, website and security information is retained only as reasonably needed for the operational, security or diagnostic purposes described here, subject to relevant provider settings and applicable requirements. Where an external platform or provider controls its own records, its own retention arrangements apply.
11. Your choices and rights
You can manage app permissions, remove saved media, disable optional location access and change device backup or synchronisation settings.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to an appropriate privacy regulator.
These rights concern information LoLog actually holds or controls. We do not need access to your private photo library simply to handle a privacy request.
We will respond to valid privacy requests within the period required by applicable law.
12. Security and children
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the information we handle to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
LoLog is a general-purpose camera app and is not specifically designed as a children’s online service. This policy also covers personal information a child submits through LoLog’s support or communication channels.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app, website, service providers, information handling or applicable requirements. The effective date will be updated when the policy changes.
Where a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide that notice or obtain that consent as required.
